“Green My Faith” Workshop for Montana Church Leaders:
Addressing Conservation Issues through the Christian Perspective
A November 9, 2010 workshop in Bozeman offers an opportunity for Montana clergy to discuss faith-based environmental initiatives that can transform congregations, communities and, ultimately, ecological health. Sponsored by The Tributary Fund of Bozeman, the day-long workshop will take place at the host Hope Lutheran Church, 2152 West Graf Street.
Faith communities throughout the country have begun to respond to modern ecological challenges. The workshop is the product of a survey of all Montana clergy and their role in protecting the earth and its species. It includes a presentation on theological approaches to conservation by consultant Rev. Rebekah Simon-Peter of Bridgeworks, a panel of case studies from congregations involved in conservation, a presentation on church building energy efficiency, and handouts and books on faith and the environment.
Registration fee before November 1 is $25, $35 thereafter, and includes lunch and a complimentary copy of “Simple Steps to Green Your Church” by Simon-Peter. To learn more, please contact The Tributary Fund at 406-585-5560 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org. The workshop brochure can be downloaded at www.thetributaryfund.org.
